October 5th, 2013

Dear Friends and Family,
I hope that this letter finds you all to be very healthy, perhaps more healthy than last year. It is time for the 16th Annual Walk with Dinah Event that will be held on October 5th. Each year, we raise money in honor of Diana, our mother. This year, the CEO of the National Stroke Association (NSA) will be here because this is the longest most successful event that was independently started with all of the proceeds donated to this organization. To date we have raised over $150,000.00. The NSA specifically works towards stroke prevention and education. A stroke is also considered a brain attack and it can occur from either bleeding into the brain or having a blockage preventing blood flow. Up to 80% of strokes can be prevented if we just listen to the warning sings and get proper treatment. If you have already had a stroke, you can help to prevent recurring events. Managing your personal risks is pertinent to your health so that you can improve awareness and follow the guidelines recommended. Exercising, eating healthy, and reducing stress all contribute to being the best you can. You may have a predisposition to a brain attack because other family members have had issues but predisposition only makes you have to be more diligent.
We miss our mom but from her having a stroke, we have all learned to take better care of ourselves and we want to invite you to learn to do the same by visiting http://support.stroke.org for more awareness information. From our contributions, the NSA has grown and developed into a site that can have a positive impact on thousands of people all over the world. In the meantime, we have a walk to complete again this year. If you know of anyone who has had a stroke or you want to get involved please consider joining our cause and donating to the NSA. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt from the NSA. Please fill out the form below and follow the instructions. We encourage all of you to attend but if not, a contribution is appreciated. After the walk, all attendees are invited back to the house for a luncheon. Please come! It is a lot of fun sharing stories.
We ask you to join us on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 for the 16th Annual Walk with Dinah and Friends at Jones Beach, Long Island N.Y. We will meet at Parking Field #6 at 9:30 and we will start the three-mile walk at 10:00.
