Running for Dad!
In August of 2012, my father had an accident that caused brain hemorrhaging and a large blood clot. He was in a coma for two months following emergency surgery that saved his life. His brain injuries severely impaired his physical abilities and he continues daily physical therapy a year later. It's been a difficult year seeing Dad reduced to this condition. Although he has a long road ahead, we still have hope that he can return to some level of normalcy. Having seen a difficult brain injury recovery first hand, I was inspired to raise money in honor of Dad and to support stroke and stroke recovery research. I often feel helpless in Dad's recovery but running and raising money in Dad's honor is something I can easily do.
