I am raising awareness and celebrating stroke survivors at the Denver Comeback Trail 5K - a charity event that supports the National Stroke Association. This 5K walk/fun-run empowers stroke survivors and caregivers to #ComebackStrong. I have set a fundraising goal to support the stroke rehabilitation and prevention efforts of the National Stroke Association.
My Uncle Larry had a stroke when I was still a boy, and it greatly affected his quality of life in retirement. My Aunt Ann and Larry planned to spend their retirement years attending Broncos games and golfing, however, stroke had other plans. After his stroke, Larry was rarely able to golf, and never during the heat of the day. The stroke affected his body, forcing hom to walk with a cane. Making attending games for his beloved Broncos impossible. As a Vietnam Vet, Larry was a true patriot and all around awesome guy. He really loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
I'm participating in memory of my Uncle Larry, will you join me?
