I am raising awareness and celebrating my baby sister and best friend Gennifer who is a stroke survivor at the Nashville Comeback Trail 5K - a charity event that supports the National Stroke Association. This 5K walk/fun-run empowers stroke survivors and caregivers to #ComebackStrong. I have set a fundraising goal of $500 to support the stroke rehabilitation and prevention efforts of the National Stroke Association.
Please support me, and the 7 million stroke survivors in the United Sates, by making a donation today. Together, we can empower survivors and caregivers as they come back strong from stroke.
Gennifer suffered a massive stroke on August 7, 2015 at the young age of 35. That day has forever changed my life and the way I think on a daily basis. I myself am guilty of taking small things for granted that stroke survivors would say is a big thing. I have had a great support system through family and friends over the past two years. If our story can change one life - all the pain and suffering will be well worth it. I am so thankful to God for giving me what I need to continue to help my sister and her "New Normal"!
Did you know?
- Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S. & a leading cause of adult disability.
- Every 40 seconds someone in the U.S. experiences a stroke.
- Every 4 minutes someone in the U.S. dies from a stroke.
- Stroke kills two times more women than breast cancer annually.
That's why I'm participating, will you join me?
