I am raising awareness and celebrating stroke survivors and their caregivers at the Houston Comeback Trail 5K - a charity event that supports the National Stroke Association. This 5K walk/fun-run empowers stroke survivors and caregivers to #ComebackStrong. I have set a fundraising goal to support stroke rehabilitation and prevention efforts of the National Stroke Association.
As you know I had a brain stem stroke in May of 2015 and my second stroke in November of that same year. Since then I have spent time working to improve my health as well as supporting Katy Memorial Hermann Hospital's Stroke Program. Volunteering at the hospital has given me an opportunity to help others that are in need. Two years ago I asked for your support when I competed in the 2016 ComeBack Trail 5K event and it was a great success. Any amount you can give this year, will make a big difference. Educating both Stroke survivors and their Caregivers is a primary goal for the National Organization. I'm sure you have had either a family member, friend or acquaintance that has been affected by this disease. Please consider giving a small donation to support me, and the 7 million stroke survivors in the United States.
