I am raising awareness and celebrating stroke survivors at the Dallas Comeback Trail 5K - a charity event that supports the National Stroke Association. This 5K walk/fun-run empowers stroke survivors and caregivers to #ComebackStrong. I have set a fundraising goal to support the stroke rehabilitation and prevention efforts of the National Stroke Association. A stroke doesn't care how old you are, your race, your gender, and I have learned there's virtually nothing you can do to prevent it from occurring. I have worked very hard to create a new "normal", and wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support of my family and friends. I've never run a 5K before, but am doing so for all the stroke survivors who can't and want to show them that no matter where you are in your recovery, anything is possible.
Please support me, and the 7 million stroke survivors in the United Sates, by making a donation today. Together, we can empower survivors and caregivers as they come back strong from stroke. I am running for those who no longer can, and for those who haven't been as fortunate as me in their recovery.
Did you know?
- Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the U.S. & a leading cause of adult disability.
- Every 40 seconds someone in the U.S. experiences a stroke.
- Every 4 minutes someone in the U.S. dies from a stroke.
- Stroke kills two times more women than breast cancer annually.
That's why I'm participating, will you join me?
