The Myths of a Stroke Survivor

While I was working at Nordstrom, I suffered a stroke.

When my doctor told me that I could go back to work, I was trying to do my best. I was trying to get healthy again and to continue with my Vocational Therapy.

Nordstrom denied my Vocational Therapy. They cut my work hours down to one day a week for only 4 hrs. My doctor recommendation was that I could work 5 days a week for 6 hours every shift. Because they cut my hours to work, my salary, benefits and health became affected.

It is unbelievable that Human Resources from this companies does not have any clue what a stroke is all about and how to be supportive and understanding with Stroke Survivors.

Due to the very bad way I was treated, I started to feel anxiety, panic attacks, depression. I already file a claim for Disability Discrimination.

Nordstrom is not giving me the opportunity to work in one of their stores close to my house so I do not have to drive. Nordstrom is not giving me the opportunity to give me another position with less volume of transactions.

To the contrary, they do not care that I suffered a stroke and they are giving me lots of stress.

I do not why everybody said that Nordstrom is one of the 100 Top companies to work for...I don't believe it! They do not know how to treat disable employees.
