Emilee's story

This is year it will be 11 years since my stroke happened. I was 13 at the time and we were at yellow stone nation park on vacation.

I am now 24. When I was 13 my family and I went to yellow stone national park for vacation. I got a bad pain in my head that turned into a very bad migraine it last soo long. The next day we went to the local doctor in the park and he gave me medication for a migraine which we later found out that it could have killed me. The next day we went to the er in the next town and they flew me to a children's hospital and the doctors told my parents that I had a stroke and my chances of survival were slim. The next day my swelling in my brain cleared up. When the pain went down I was fine I could talk and move.

I had to relearn how to walk but that didn't take long. The only side effect I have is I have trouble doing math and with problem solving. I am so happy to be alive and to be able to share my story. I just graduated from college.
